Baseball Recap: Gurdon Takes a Loss

Gurdon lost against Parkers Chapel back in April of 2024, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Monday. The Gurdon Go-Devils came up short against the Parkers Chapel Trojans, falling 12-2.

Gurdon saw seven different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Landon Rogers, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one RBI.

Even though they lost, Gurdon was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .429. That's the best batting average they've posted all season.

Gurdon dropped their record down to 1-3 with the defeat, which was their tenth straight on the road dating back to last season. As for Parkers Chapel, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 6-1.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Gurdon will square off against Magnet Cove at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Parkers Chapel, they will take on Harmony Grove at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
