With a playoff win on the line, Mt. Shasta rose to the challenge on Friday. They breezed past the Quincy Trojans to the tune of 89-57. The Bears' offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.

Brooks Andrus continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, going 14-for-22 en route to 34 points in addition to eight rebounds and four steals. He is becoming a predictor of Mt. Shasta's success: when he posts at least 20 points the team is 13-5 (and 5-6 when he doesn't). Another player making a difference was Hayden Porteous, who posted ten points along with ten assists and ten boards.

Mt. Shasta smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 16 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least nine offensive rebounds in 13 consecutive matches.

Mt. Shasta pushed their record up to 18-11 with the victory, which was their sixth straight at home. They've dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 24.7 points. As for Quincy, they moved to 15-11 with that loss, which also ended their four-game winning streak.

Mt. Shasta didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 63-48 defeat against Weed on the 27th. Quincy does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
