Carmel Christian and Charlotte Latin are an even 4-4 against one another since September of 2017, but not for long. The Cougars will head out to take on the Hawks at 6:15 p.m. on Monday. Both come into the matchup bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Carmel Christian took a three-set defeat the last time they faced off against Davidson Day, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. The Cougars sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 3-2 victory over the Patriots on Thursday.

The match was a true back-and-forth as no team won consecutive sets, but in the end it was Carmel Christian who won the one that mattered. The match finished with set scores of 28-26, 12-25, 25-22, 17-25, 15-7.

Charlotte Latin won the last time they faced Charlotte Christian and Ryan Burrell did her part to make sure it happened again. The Hawks came out on top against the Knights by a score of 3-1 on Thursday for which the team can thank Burrell, who had 26 digs and three aces. She is on a roll when it comes to digs, as she's now had 16 or more in each of the last 12 games she's played.

Charlotte Latin had a slow start but a hot finish: after dropping the first set, they turned around to win the next three. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 13-25, 25-13, 25-19, 25-12.

Carmel Christian's record is now 4-8. As for Charlotte Latin, their record now sits at 23-1.

Carmel Christian might still be hurting after the 3-0 loss they got from Charlotte Latin in their previous matchup back in September of 2024. Can the Cougars avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
