Baseball Game Preview: Jackson Prep Patriots vs. Second Baptist Eagles

The Jackson Prep Patriots will face off against the Second Baptist Eagles at 3:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Jackson Prep is coming into the contest on a five-game losing streak.

Oak Grove hit Jackson Prep with a eight-run second inning on Tuesday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Patriots lost 14-4 to the Warriors.

Jackson Prep saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Sam Milner, who went 1-for-2 with one run and one RBI. Parkes Young also deserves some recognition as he scored his first run of the season.

Meanwhile, neither Second Baptist nor Starkville could gain the upper hand on Tuesday so the two teams had to settle for a 3-3 draw.

Second Baptist's tie makes their record 4-0-1 this season. As for Jackson Prep, their defeat dropped their record down to 8-8.

Jackson Prep might still be hurting after the 7-0 loss they got from Second Baptist in their previous matchup back in March of 2025. Can the Patriots avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
