Basketball Recap: Greenfield Falls Short Against Ranked St. Anne's-Belfield

Greenfield is ranked highly in their home state and on Thursday they took on another highly ranked team in the form of St. Anne's-Belfield. The Greenfield Knights were outmatched by the St. Anne's-Belfield Saints and fell 76-44. The Knights have been going strong on the season, but this is now their second defeat in a row.

St. Anne's-Belfield was led to victory by Austin Williford and Danzelle Bullock Coles. Williford dropped a double-double on 20 points and ten rebounds, while Bullock Coles dropped a double-double on 21 points and ten boards. The dominant performance also gave Bullock Coles a new career-high in assists (eight). Chance Mallory was another key player, putting up 14 points.

Greenfield's loss dropped their record down to 12-6. As for St. Anne's-Belfield, they now have a winning record of 5-4.

Greenfield wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 72-66 defeat against Ravenscroft on the 27th. As for St. Anne's-Belfield, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 72-51 win against Broughton on the 27th.
