Volleyball Recap: Buckeye Continues Home Dominance on Wednesday + How To Watch

There's no place like home for Buckeye, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Monday. They walked away with a 3-1 win over the Desert Edge Scorpions on Wednesday. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 2-1 back in August.

Buckeye had a slow start but a hot finish: after dropping the first set, they turned around to win the next three. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 21-25, 25-14, 25-21, 25-16.

Taya Lewis paced Buckeye's offense, picking up 16 kills. Lewis got some help from Mikayla Lee and her 22 assists. Jozlyn Dennis controlled things from the service line, finishing with four aces.

Buckeye pushed their record up to 10-6 with the victory, which was their sixth straight at home dating back to last season. As for Desert Edge, their loss dropped their record down to 10-9.

Coming up, after both having extra time off, Buckeye and North Canyon will shake off the rust and duke it out at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Hawks are facing the Rattlers at the right time seeing as the Rattlers are stuck on a five-game losing streak. As for Desert Edge, they have already played their next contest, a 3-0 defeat against Canyon View on the 2nd.
