Basketball Game Preview: Pike Central Chargers vs. Jasper Wildcats

Pike Central hasn't had much luck against Jasper recently, but that could start to change on Saturday. The Pike Central Chargers will take on the Jasper Wildcats at 8:00 p.m.

Two weeks ago, Pike Central was beaten by Gibson Southern 81-33. While losing is never fun, the Chargers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Indiana basketball rankings (they are ranked 326th, while the Titans are ranked 57th).

Meanwhile, after only 24 points in their last match, Jasper made sure to put some points up on the board against Wood Memorial on Saturday. Jasper enjoyed a cozy 58-42 victory over Wood Memorial.

This is the second loss in a row for Pike Central and nudges their season record down to 3-9. As for Jasper, they have been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five contests, which provided a massive bump to their 9-6 record this season.

Pike Central might still be hurting after the 45-21 loss they got from Jasper in their previous meeting back in December of 2023. Can Pike Central avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
