Football Recap: Santiago's Undefeated Season over After Four Games

Santiago lost against Roosevelt back in September of 2024, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Sharks fell 35-26 to the Mustangs. The loss was the Sharks' first of the season.

Even if they lost, Santiago's defensive line still kept up the pressure with five sacks. Leading the way was Caleb Joh with 2.5. Floyd Watson III was another major factor on D, picking up a sack, making five total tackles, and defending four passes in addition to snagging an interception.

Blake Nadler continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines for Roosevelt, throwing for 340 yards and four TDs. Shawn Leon did his part for the team as well, scoring a TD off of 67 receiving yards.

Santiago's defeat dropped their record down to 3-1. As for Roosevelt, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record up to 3-2.

Coming up, Santiago will be playing at home against Adelanto at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Saints' defense has only allowed 12.8 points per game this season, so the Sharks' offense will have their work cut out for them. As for Roosevelt, they will have some time to savor their win since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Centennial at 7:30 p.m. on October 2. The Mustangs will need to watch out since the Huskies have now posted at least 31 points in their last three matches.
