Recap: Dodge County Indians vs. East Laurens Falcons
The Dodge County Indians waltzed into their match on Saturday with six straight wins but they left with seven. They enjoyed a cozy 54-38 victory over East Laurens. Dodge County pushed the score to 49-19 by the end of the third, a deficit the Falcons cut but never quite recovered from.
Lyric Green was her usual excellent self, dropping a double-double on 20 points and 21 rebounds. Green is crushing the rebound category: she's posted at least eight every time she's taken the court this season. Paige Ingram was another key contributor, scoring 14 points along with five rebounds.
When it comes to explaining why East Laurens lost, one person who can't be blamed is McKayela Tanner. Despite the final result, she dropped a double-double on 24 points and ten steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Jayla Givens, who scored eight points along with seven rebounds and five steals.
East Laurens struggled to work together and finished the game with only four assists. They were crushed by their opponents in that department as Dodge County posted 12 assists.
Dodge County has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won ten of their last 11 matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 15-3 record this season. As for East Laurens, their loss dropped their record down to 11-5.
