League recap: Faith Baptist's league-best three wins lead to standings climb

Heritage league recap: 3/20/13

Top honors in the league this week go to Faith Baptist, which finished with three wins overall, good for best in the league. The Contenders beat St. Monica Academy 7-6 and Lancaster Baptist 11-0.

Faith Baptist made the biggest jump in the standings this week, moving from fourth to first place in Heritage thanks to a 3-1 record over the past seven days. Meanwhile, Trinity Classical Academy fell hardest in the standings, dropping from first all the way to third place after going 0-2 in the past week.

The Contenders' pitching staff had a strong showing this week, allowing only seven hits and four walks, both of which led the league.

There were three hitters that batted over .400 in the league this week. They were led by Trey Christopher, who hit .600 this week (3-for-5).

The week's strikeout crown belonged to Chris Buchanan, who turned in four Ks for the Knights. With seven strikeouts this year so far, he ranks first in the league.



Buchanan drove in six runners on Tuesday in Trinity Classical Academy's 18-4 victory over Maricopa. He went 3-for-4 and scored three runs.
