Basketball Recap: Victory Christian Academy Takes a Loss

Victory Christian Academy suffered their biggest loss since November 19, 2024 on Monday. They had to suffer through a 56-29 loss at the hands of the Westwood Baptist Academy Eagles. Sadly, that's the second time they've come up short against the Chargers this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 50-19 back in November of 2024.

Westwood Baptist Academy found their leader in sophomore Sydney Hawley, who went 11 for 17 en route to 24 points and six steals. Hawley is trending in the right direction considering she's improved her point production for three straight games. Katie Gross was another key player, going 6 of 13 on her way to 18 points and eight boards.

Victory Christian Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 5-8. As for Westwood Baptist Academy, their victory bumped their record up to 9-3.

Victory Christian Academy does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Westwood Baptist Academy, they will welcome Holcomb at 7:15 p.m. on February 10th. Westwood Baptist Academy's defense has only allowed 29.8 points per game this season, so Holcomb's offense will have their work cut out for them.
