Soccer Game Preview: Pueblo West vs. Fountain-Fort Carson

The Pueblo West Cyclones will head out on the road to square off against the Fountain-Fort Carson Trojans at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Neither squad made it on the board the last time they hit the pitch, so they've probably got a bit of extra motivation.

Pueblo West came into their game on Tuesday off a hard-fought close win, but unfortunately suffered a serious change of fortune. They came up short against Rampart, falling 4-0. The shutout was out of character for Pueblo West seeing as the last time the team failed to score was back in March.

Meanwhile, Fountain-Fort Carson was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. They took a 3-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of Vista Ridge. The game was a 1-1 toss-up at halftime, but Fountain-Fort Carson couldn't quite close it out.

The defeat snapped Pueblo West's winning streak at three games and leaves them with a 7-4-1 record. As for Fountain-Fort Carson, their loss dropped their record down to 3-6-1.

Everything went Pueblo West's way against Fountain-Fort Carson when the teams last played back in April of 2018, as Pueblo West made off with a 3-0 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Cyclones since the team won't have the home-pitch advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
