Basketball Game Preview: Rock Falls Rockets vs. Dixon Dukes & Duchesses

Rock Falls hasn't had much luck against Dixon recently, but that could start to change on Friday. The Rock Falls Rockets are taking a road trip to face off against the Dixon Dukes & Duchesses at 6:45 p.m.

Rock Falls is headed into Friday's contest looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their 12th straight game on Tuesday. They had to suffer through a 66-22 loss at the hands of Lutheran. While losing is never fun, the Rockets can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Illinois basketball rankings (they are ranked 539th, while the Crusaders are ranked 114th).

Meanwhile, Dixon entered their tilt with LaSalle-Peru on Thursday with two consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with three. They came out on top against the Cavaliers by a score of 45-37.

Dixon is also on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last nine matches, which provided a nice bump to their 22-4 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 50.2 points per game. As for Rock Falls, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-22.

Rock Falls might still be hurting after the 52-32 loss they got from Dixon in their previous meeting back in January of 2024. Can Rock Falls avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
