Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Gaston Christian). Everything went their way against the SouthLake Christian Academy Eagles on Friday as the Gaston Christian Eagles made off with a 78-55 victory. Gaston Christian has made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won 12 matches by 20 points or more this season.

Gaston Christian was led to victory by Emily Haux and Happy Arune. Haux went 10 for 16 on her way to 30 points and seven steals, while Arune dropped a double-double on 24 points and 17 boards. Gaston Christian is undefeated when Haux posts 15 or more points, but 4-5 otherwise. Another player making a difference was Trinity Genteman, who posted eight points and six steals.

Gaston Christian smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 27 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive rebounds every time they've taken the court this season.

Gaston Christian has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won seven of their last eight games, which provided a nice bump to their 14-5 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 62.6 points over those games. As for SouthLake Christian Academy, they dropped their record down to 5-16 with the defeat, which was their third straight at home.
