The Palm Beach Lakes Rams will challenge the Atlantic Christian Sharks at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Palm Beach Lakes is coming into the game hot, having won their last four games.
While Palm Beach Lakes didn't have the best season last year (they finished 2-13), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past. They walked away with a 9-5 win over Lake Worth on Thursday.
Bryce Jackson made a splash no matter where he played. He pitched five innings while giving up just one earned (and two unearned) runs off two hits. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in four consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, scoring two runs and stealing Two bases.
In other batting news, Palm Beach Lakes let Kaiden Edwards and Armando Osorio run wild. Edwards went 3-for-4 with two stolen bases, while Osorio scored two runs and stole a base while going 1-for-3. That's the most hits Edwards has posted since back in March of 2024. Miguel Antonio was another key player, scoring a run and stealing a base.
Meanwhile, Atlantic Christian got the win against Glades Central on Thursday by a conclusive 10-1. The result was nothing new for the Sharks, who have now won five matchups by nine runs or more so far this season.
Like Palm Beach Lakes, Atlantic Christian also got a great game from a two-way player: Landon Moffitt. He looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run while striking out six over seven innings pitched. Moffitt was also solid in the batter's box, scoring a run while going 1-for-2.
In other batting news, Micah Herring and David Gonzalez did most of the damage at the plate: Herring scored three runs and stole a base while going 2-for-4, while Gonzalez went 1-for-3 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one triple. Gonzalez has become a key player for Atlantic Christian: the team is undefeated when he posts at least two stolen bases, but 1-5 otherwise. Another player making a difference was Reily Campusano, who scored a run and stole a base while going 2-for-3.
Palm Beach Lakes pushed their record up to 6-1 with the victory, which was their fourth straight at home. They've dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 11 runs. As for Atlantic Christian, their win ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 5-5.
Tuesday's contest might come down to which pitcher can control the ball better. Palm Beach Lakes has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .483. However, it's not like Atlantic Christian struggles in that department as they've averaged .486. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Palm Beach Lakes suffered a grim 20-9 defeat to Atlantic Christian when the teams last played back in April of 2024. Can Palm Beach Lakes avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
