On Friday, Maeser Prep Academy made easy work of Freedom Prep Academy and carried off a 22-4 win. The Lions have beaten the Eagles the last five times they've met, but they better watch out: this was the closest the Eagles has come to flipping the script.
Corbin Turner made a big impact while hitting and pitching. He struck out six batters over two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits (and only one walk). Those six strikeouts gave him a new career-high. He was also stellar in the batter's box, going a perfect 3-for-3 with four runs, one triple, and one stolen base.

Meanwhile, Draper APA came up short against Intermountain Christian on Friday, falling 16-6. The defeat continues a trend for the Eagles in their meetings with the Lions: they've now lost four in a row.

Draper APA's loss dropped their record down to 0-2. As for Maeser Prep Academy, their victory bumped their record up to 2-0.
