Basketball Game Preview: Times Squared Academy Eagles vs. Portsmouth Patriots

The Times Squared Academy Eagles will square off against the Portsmouth Patriots at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Times Squared Academy knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past five contests -- so hopefully Portsmouth likes a good challenge.

While Times Squared Academy didn't have the best season last year (they finished 4-17), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past. They took their game last Thursday with ease, bagging an 87-37 victory over Scituate. The Eagles have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won three matches by 23 points or more this season.

Times Squared Academy's success was spearheaded by the efforts of Justin Urey, who posted 24 points, and Yomy Garcia, who had 18 points. Garcia's evening made it three games in a row in which he has scored at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Steven Garcia, who earned 12 points.

Meanwhile, Portsmouth didn't have too much trouble with Smithfield on Thursday as they won 77-61.

Portsmouth's win bumped their record up to 5-2. As for Times Squared Academy, their victory ended a three-game drought at home dating back to last season and bumped them up to 4-1.
