On Thursday, Legacy faced Mojave in a battle between two of the state's top teams. The Legacy Longhorns sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 3-2 victory over the Mojave Rattlers. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Longhorns.
Legacy took Mojave into a fifth set where they got it done with a six-point win. The match finished with set scores of 23-25, 25-13, 25-20, 25-27, 15-9.
Logan Hanshew paced Legacy's offense, picking up 16 kills. Hanshew got some help from Isaiah Moore and his 32 assists. Isaac Schultz controlled things from the service line, finishing with four aces.
Legacy's win bumped their record up to 4-5. As for Mojave, their loss ended a five-game streak of away wins dating back to last season and brought them to 5-5.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. After both having extra time off, Legacy and Rancho will dust off their jerseys to square off against one another at 6:00 p.m. on March 25th. Mojave will have a little extra prep time after the defeat as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Durango at 6:00 p.m. on March 24th.
