Football Recap: Covington Trojans vs. Seeger Patriots
Covington was the 41-14 winner over Seeger when they last played one another back in October of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. The Trojans were dealt a 45-8 loss at the hands of the Patriots on Friday. The Trojans were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 31-8.
Beau Bishop threw for 95 yards on ten of 23 attempts. Kaden Smith was his top target, picking up 53 receiving yards.
Seeger's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Tucker Herndon, who rushed for 124 yards and a pair of TDs on only 15 carries, and also caught one touchdown. Herndon also put in work on the defensive side of the ball, forcing one fumble and making five total tackles. Another signal caller making a difference was Jacob Salts, who threw for 238 yards and four touchdowns.
This is the second loss in a row for Covington and nudges their season record down to 4-3. As for Seeger, they pushed their record up to 6-1 with the win, which was their third straight at home.
