With a playoff win on the line, Westview rose to the challenge on Tuesday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 3-1 victory over the Eastside Blazers. The win was some much needed relief for the Warriors as it spelled an end to their four-game losing streak.
Brynn Bontrager spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered a run (which was unearned) on four hits.
On the hitting side, Westview's victory was truly a team effort as five different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Janissa Lehman, who went 2-for-3 with one double and one RBI.
Westview's win bumped their record up to 11-9. As for Eastside, they now have a losing record of 13-14.
As of now, neither Westview nor the Blazers have any future games scheduled.
