Midland Christian entered their tilt with Southwest Christian School on Thursday with seven consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with eight. They skirted past the Eagles 5-3. For the Mustangs, this counts as revenge for the 14-5 victory the Eagles walked away with the last time they faced one another back in March of 2024.

Maddy Munoz spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned (and two unearned) runs on seven hits and racked up nine Ks. She has been consistent for a while: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in 12 consecutive appearances.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Annie Munoz, who went 2-for-3 with one home run and one double. Another player making a difference was Mia Morales, who went 1-for-2 with one home run.

Midland Christian's win bumped their record up to 14-4-1. As for Southwest Christian School, this is the second loss in a row for them and also nudges their season record down to 14-4-1.

Midland Christian will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Eagles: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 10:00 a.m. on Friday.
