Recap: Smithfield-Selma Spartans vs. West Johnston Wildcats        
        
		
            
 The Smithfield-Selma Spartans's recent rough patch got a bit rougher  on Friday after their fourth straight loss. They received a tough blow  as they fell  65-46 to West Johnston. The  loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Smithfield-Selma in their matchups with West Johnston: they've now lost four in a row.
 Smithfield-Selma's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was   Jacob Stewart, who  scored 12 points along with five  rebounds.  Elijah Bailey was another key contributor,  scoring ten points.
  Caden Horay was  his usual excellent self,  scoring 22 points along with five  assists and three  steals for West Johnston. The team also got some help courtesy of  William Moore, who  dropped  a double-double on 12 points and 11  rebounds.
 Smithfield-Selma bumped their record down to 2-9 with that  loss, which was their 17th straight  on the road. As for West Johnston, their victory  ended a four-game drought at home  and  bumped them up to 6-8.
 Smithfield-Selma will head out on the road to  face off against  Southern Wayne at 7:30  p.m.  on Tuesday. As for West Johnston, they will play host again and welcome C.B. Aycock, where tip off is scheduled for 7:30  p.m.  on Tuesday. One thing working in C.B. Aycock's favor is that they have posted big  point totals  in their last five matches.
