Basketball Recap: Holy Savior Menard Takes a Loss

Holy Savior Menard was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their sixth straight loss. They were five points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 58-53 heartbreaker at the hands of the Oak Hill Rams. The Eagles were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Rams earlier this season, when they won 49-47.

Despite the defeat, Holy Savior Menard saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Fritz Garganta almost dropped a double-double on 18 points and nine boards. Those nine rebounds gave Garganta a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Peyton Procell, who posted 17 points.

Holy Savior Menard's loss dropped their record down to 7-23. As for Oak Hill, they pushed their record up to 19-14 with the victory, which was their fifth straight at home.

Holy Savior Menard will venture away from home to challenge Kinder at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Kinder will roll in looking for their seventh straight win, something Holy Savior Menard surely won't give up without a fight. As for Oak Hill, they will host Avoyelles Charter at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. One thing working in Oak Hill's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last nine contests.
