Baseball Recap: Steubenville Picks Up Third Consecutive Victory

Steubenville waltzed into their contest on Monday with two straight wins... but they left with three. They skirted past the John Marshall Monarchs 4-2. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 7-3 back in March.

Matthew Fabbro spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered just two earned runs on five hits. He has been consistent: he hasn't given up more than two walks in six consecutive appearances.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on AJ Borsch, who got on base in all four of his plate appearances with one home run, two runs, and one stolen base.

Steubenville's win bumped their record up to 12-4. As for John Marshall, their loss ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 8-4.

Coming up, Steubenville will square off against Indian Creek at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The Redskins' pitching crew has only allowed 1.7 runs per game this season, so the Big Red's hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for John Marshall, they will take on Spring Valley at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. The Monarchs' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Timberwolves have averaged an impressive 6.6 runs per game this season.
