It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Hondo can now relate to. They fell just short of the Randolph Ro-Hawks by a score of 3-2 on Tuesday. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Owls of the 3-1 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in August.

Hondo took a 2-1 lead headed into the fourth set, but sadly they lost the next two. The match finished with set scores of 21-25, 26-24, 25-27, 25-18, 15-11.

Hondo's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Araceli Fernandez, who had 28 digs and ten assists. Fernandez is on a roll when it comes to digs, as she's now had ten or more in the last three games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Lexi Gauna, who had 27 digs and four aces.

Even though they lost, Hondo was lethal from the service line and finished the game with 11 aces. This was only their first loss (out of eight games) when they serve at least ten aces.

Randolph was led to victory by Kylin Bain and Makayla Hookstra. Bain had 24 digs and two aces, while Hookstra had 12 digs. With that strong performance, Bain is now averaging an impressive 10.3 digs per game.
