Softball Recap: Gloucester Catholic Extends Winning Streak to Four

Gloucester Catholic waltzed into their match on Wednesday with three straight wins... but they left with four. They blew past the Clayton Clippers 12-2. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Rams also won the last time the pair played back in May of 2024.

Kate Bonawitz and Aubrey Johnson did most of the damage at the plate: Bonawitz scored two runs while going 2-for-3, while Johnson scored a run while going 3-for-4. Those hits were Johnson's first of the season. Kaitlyn Capalbo was another key player, scoring two runs while going 1-for-3.

Gloucester Catholic's win bumped their record up to 4-1. As for Clayton, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-5.

Looking ahead, Gloucester Catholic will look to defend their home field on Thursday against Wildwood at 4:00 p.m. The Warriors have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 13 runs per game on average), something the Rams will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Clayton, they will head out to challenge Glassboro at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Bulldogs have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 7.13 runs per game on average), something the Clippers will no doubt try to take advantage of.
