Football Recap: Carroll Sets Scoring Season-High Against Greenville

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Montgomery Catholic, Carroll was happy to have turned things around on Friday. They enjoyed a cozy 29-12 win over the Greenville Tigers. The Eagles' offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.

Carroll got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Holden Pawlik out in front who threw for 261 yards and three TDs while picking up 13.1 yards per attempt. What's more, Pawlik racked up 104.2 passer rating, the most he's had since back in September of 2024. 85 of Pawlik's passing yards were hauled in by Devon Pruitt, who also brought in a receiving touchdown.

Carroll's first win this season bumped their record up to 1-7. As for Greenville, they dropped their record down to 1-6 with the defeat, which was their sixth straight at home dating back to last season.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Carroll will challenge Andalusia at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Bulldogs will aim to continue their three-game streak of scoring more points each contest than the last. As for Greenville, they will face off against Montgomery Catholic at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Tigers will need to watch out since the Knights have now posted at least 31 points in their last three matchups.
