Football Game Preview: Grovetown Warriors vs. Archer Tigers + How To Watch

The Grovetown Warriors are taking a road trip to take on the Archer Tigers at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Grovetown's offense hasn't had much luck over their past three matchups, but Friday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Grovetown's offense might be in the hot seat on Friday considering what happened against Newton on Friday. They were beaten by the Rams 30-0. While losing is never fun, the Warriors can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Georgia football rankings (they are ranked 203rd, while the Rams are ranked 33rd).

Meanwhile, Archer made easy work of Rockdale County on Friday and carried off a 38-14 win. The Tigers might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won three contests by 24 points or more this season.

Archer's win came from a few key players Grovetown will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Jordan Do, who rushed for 50 yards and two scores, and also threw for 187 yards and a pair of touchdowns. His passing game has become a key predictor of Archer's success: the team is 2-1 when his passer rating is 110 or higher, but only 1-2 otherwise. Another player making a difference was Tyree Begne, who gained 182 total yards.

Archer was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 240 rushing yards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now rushed for at least 171 rushing yards in three consecutive matchups.

The victory got Archer back to even at 3-3. As for Grovetown, they now have a losing record of 3-4.

Grovetown took a serious blow against Archer in their previous matchup back in October of 2024, falling 42-14. That game was all but decided by halftime, at which point the Warriors were down 42-7.
