Baseball Recap: Lyon County's Win on Tuesday Extends Winning Streak to Three

Lyon County had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 3.5 runs) and they went ahead and made it three on Tuesday. Everything went their way against the Livingston Central Cardinals as they made off with an 18-3 victory. The Lyons might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won four matchups by six runs or more this season.

Trace Walker looked comfortable as he pitched three innings while giving up no earned runs off three hits.

At the plate, Lyon County let Austin Spears and Korben Lucas run wild. Spears went a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run, three runs, and three RBI, while Lucas went a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run, three runs, and four RBI. Those three runs gave Spears a new career-high. Peyton Williams also deserves some recognition as he hit his first triple of the season.

Lyon County kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 15 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least ten hits in five consecutive games.

Lyon County's record now sits at 8-4. As for Livingston Central, they have been struggling recently as they've lost six of their last seven contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 4-9 record this season.

Lyon County will have a chance to go back-to-back against Livingston Central: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday.
