Basketball Recap: Jemison Piles Up the Points Against Isabella

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Jemison). They breezed by the Isabella Mustangs to the tune of 76-13 on Monday. The high-flying offensive performance was a huge turnaround for the Panthers considering their 21-point performance the contest before.

Jemison got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Zariyah Johnson out in front who dropped a double-double on 14 points and ten boards. Johnson has become a key player for Jemison: the team is undefeated when she posts at least eight rebounds, but 1-3 otherwise. The team also got some help courtesy of Chloe Calloway, who posted ten points and six steals.

Jemison's win bumped their record up to 6-3. As for Isabella, they are on a five-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-3.

Jemison will have a chance to go back-to-back against Isabella: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
