Football Preview: Amite County Trojans vs. Wilkinson County Wildcats
For the first time this season, Amite County will have a chance to prove themselves in a conference matchup. They are taking a road trip to challenge the Wilkinson County Wildcats at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Amite County has three straight wins, Wilkinson County has ten straight defeats), but none of that matters once you're on the field.
Last Friday, Amite County took their matchup with ease, bagging a 52-12 victory over Salem. Considering the Trojans have won four games by more than 21 points this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.

Amite County's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Kevin Bailey, who rushed for 171 yards and two TDs while picking up 9.5 yards per carry. Those 171 rushing yards gave Bailey a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Kemauri Thompson, who rushed for 84 yards and a pair of scores.
Meanwhile, Wilkinson County came up short against Loyd Star on Friday and fell 29-18.
