Basketball Game Preview: Moriarty Pintos vs. Espanola Valley Sundevils

The Moriarty Pintos will head out to square off against the Espanola Valley Sundevils at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Espanola Valley took a loss in their last game and will be looking to turn the tables on Moriarty, who comes in off a win.

Moriarty is headed into the matchup having just posted their closest victory since December 2, 2023 on Saturday. They narrowly escaped with a win as the team sidled past Los Alamos 40-38. The victory continues a trend for the Pintos in their matchups with the Hilltoppers: they've now won three in a row.

Meanwhile, Espanola Valley lost to Pojoaque Valley on the road by a 46-30 margin on Saturday.

Moriarty's win bumped their record up to 9-14. As for Espanola Valley, their loss was their first in the district, dropping their district record down to 4-1 and their overall record down to 15-8.

Moriarty came up short against Espanola Valley in their previous meeting two weeks ago, falling 56-44. Can Moriarty avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
