Basketball Recap: Pottsboro Takes a Loss

It was a proper cat-fight when Pottsboro faced off against Commerce on Tuesday. The Cardinals fell 53-46 to the Tigers. The Cardinals were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Tigers apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in November of 2024.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Commerce to victory, but perhaps none more so than I'Zariah Kilson, who went 7-for-14 en route to 16 points and five steals. Kilson is crushing it when it comes to steals: she's grabbed at least two every time she's taken the court this season. Ja'Naya Anderson was another key player, dropping a double-double with ten points and 11 boards.

This is the second loss in a row for Pottsboro and nudges their season record down to 5-2. As for Commerce, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record up to 3-0.

Pottsboro has already played their next contest, a 45-40 loss against A&M Consolidated on the 24th. As for Commerce, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 46-31 win against Honey Grove on the 24th.
