Softball Recap: Elberta Comes Up Short

Elberta was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their 11th straight loss dating back to last season. They lost 7-0 to the Baldwin County Tigers. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Tigers this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 2-1 last Saturday.

Elberta saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Peyton Roberts, who went 1-for-2 with one double. That double marked the first that Roberts' hit this season.

Elberta's defeat dropped their record down to 0-8. As for Baldwin County, they are on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 5-2 record this season.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Elberta will face off against Foley at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Baldwin County, they will square off against Satsuma at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Baldwin County's pitching crew has only allowed 1.1 runs per game this season, so Satsuma's hitters will have their work cut out for them.
