Newington/Berlin (Newington, Conn.) hockey team didn't just sport some spiffy uniforms this season. The Indians were in unison when they removed their helmets as well.

The players on the skilled hockey team, who reached the CIAC Division II quarterfinals, all died their hair to a bleached blonde color for good luck.
According to the
New Britain Herald, Newington-Berlin dyed their locks four years ago around tournament time and had some success. Last season, the team failed to uphold the tradition and lost in the first round, so this year, every player dyed his hair and they won a first-round game against Guliford 3-1.
The blonde boys didn't have quite as much luck Friday in a 3-0 loss to North Branford. But at least they were coordinated.
"It's like we're all together and all as one," coach David Harackiewicz told the newspaper before the season-ending loss. "It's a tradition and they stayed with it. Hey, if we can win I don't care what color their hair is. If it seems to spark them we will keep it going."
We'll see about next year.
