The Stringer Red Devils will be playing at home against the Mize Bulldogs at 6:30 p.m. on Monday. Stringer's pitching crew has only allowed 3.9 runs per game this season, so Mize's hitters will have their work cut out for them.
Stringer will face Mize after dropping another heartbreaker against Sumrall last Thursday, which marked the third time in a row the team's come within 2.1 of beating them. Stringer fell 7-2 to Sumrall. The Red Devils have struggled against the Bobcats recently, as the game was their sixth consecutive lost meeting.
Madilyn Graham spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered four earned (and three unearned) runs on two hits. She has been consistent for a while: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in ten consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Preslee Cook was cooking despite her team's loss, going a perfect 4-for-4 with one RBI. Those four hits gave her a new career-high.
Meanwhile, in Friday's Canine Competition, Mize had to take the L. They fell just short of Puckett by a score of 5-3 on Friday. The Bulldogs have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Mize saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Lizanna Waters, who scored a run while going 2-for-4.
Stringer's defeat dropped their record down to 8-3-1. As for Mize, their loss dropped their record down to 9-7.
Mize's hitters will have their work cut out for them on Monday. Stringer has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 7.8 strikeouts per game. It's a different story for Mize, though, as they've been averaging only 3.8 strikeouts. Will Stringer keep running through batters, or will Mize buck the trend?
Stringer took their victory against Mize in their previous matchup on March 6th by a conclusive 14-5. Does Stringer have another victory up their sleeve, or will Mize turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
