Football Recap: Shorecrest Prep Wins High-Profile Game Against Foundation Christian Academy

Shorecrest Prep faced Foundation Christian Academy in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Friday. The Chargers enjoyed a cozy 22-8 victory over the Panthers. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Chargers.

It was another big night for Ke'Mon Dent, who rushed for 164 yards and a pair of scores, and also picked up 31 receiving yards. Shorecrest Prep is undefeated when Dent posts 80 or more rushing yards, but 1-2 otherwise.

Shorecrest Prep's run defense was locked in: Foundation Christian Academy could only muster 2.5 yards per carry. While one picked up at least two total tackles, Dent stood above the rest. He rushed for 164 yards and two touchdowns, and also picked up 31 receiving yards. Shorecrest Prep didn't have any issues in that department, having averaged 5.8.

Shorecrest Prep's defense also made the game a nightmare for the opposing QB, racking up seven sacks. The heavy lifting was done by Decedric Dillard and Damarion Feaster, who racked up four sacks between them.

Shorecrest Prep's win bumped their record up to 5-2. As for Foundation Christian Academy, their defeat was their third straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 6-3.

Shorecrest Prep does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Foundation Christian Academy, they will be playing in front of their home fans against The Classical Academy of Sarasota at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Panthers will be up against the Patriots' rather soft defense (which has allowed 28.56 points per game), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance.
