Baseball Game Preview: Rigby Trojans vs. Skyline Grizzlies

The Rigby Trojans will head out to challenge the Skyline Grizzlies at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Rigby will be strutting in after a victory while Skyline will be coming in after a defeat.

Rigby barely beat Thunder Ridge the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Trojans were the clear victors by an 11-0 margin over the Titans on Saturday. The Trojans haven't had any issues with the Titans recently, as the game was their third consecutive win against them.

The result came thanks to Joseph Madsen's shutout, as he gave up just three hits.

On the hitting side, DJ Boudrero was excellent, going 2-for-3 with three RBI and two runs. He is becoming a predictor of Rigby's success: when he posts at least two runs the team is 2-1 (and 7-12 when he doesn't). Another player making a difference was Easton Allen, who went 1-for-2 with two RBI, one run, and one double.

Bonneville hit Skyline with a five-run sixth inning on Friday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Grizzlies came up short against the Bees, falling 11-1.

Skyline saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Hayden Nahay, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one double. Dillon Herzog also deserves some recognition as he hit his first double of the season.

Skyline's loss ended a four-game streak of away wins and brought them to 11-7. As for Rigby, their victory bumped their record up to 9-13.
