Softball Recap: Cumberland Christian Takes a Loss

Cumberland Christian was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their 17th straight loss dating back to last season. They came up short against the Gloucester County Christian Conquerors, falling 17-1. Having soared to a lofty 13 runs in the game before, the Crusaders couldn't push the score so high this time.

Cumberland Christian saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Lia Rodriguez, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one run.

Cumberland Christian's defeat dropped their record down to 0-7. As for Gloucester County Christian, their victory ended a four-game drought at home and bumped them up to 5-6.

Looking ahead, Cumberland Christian will host Varsity Opponent at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Gloucester County Christian, they will venture away from home to face off against Atlantic Christian at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Conquerors' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Cougars have averaged an impressive 8.7 runs per game this season.
