Baseball Game Preview: Limon Badgers vs. Las Animas Trojans

The Limon Badgers will square off against the Las Animas Trojans at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Limon has given up an average of 6.6 runs per game this season, but Tuesday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Limon managed to slip by Merino the last time these teams faced off, but didn't have those same answers this time around. The Badgers lost 14-3 to the Rams on Saturday. It was the first time this season that the Badgers let down their fans at home.

Limon saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Camdyn Tacha, who went 1-for-2 with one run.

Meanwhile, Las Animas unfortunately witnessed the end of their eight-game winning streak on Saturday. They fell just short of Crowley County by a score of 6-4.

Kree Wallace made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-3 with three stolen bases and one run. He is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as he's now snagged at least one in each of the last four games he's played. Braydon Ortiz was another key player, going 3-for-4 with one run and one double.

Las Animas' defeat was their first in the league, dropping their league record down to 6-1 and their overall record down to 13-2. As for Limon, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 10-5.

Limon came out on top in a nail-biter against Las Animas in their previous matchup back in May of 2024, sneaking past 2-1. Will the Badgers repeat their success, or do the Trojans have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
