Volleyball Recap: Emily Gilstrap Key Part of Team Effort in Lions Win

There's no place like home for Daniel, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Thursday. They blew past the Blue Ridge Fighting Tigers 3-0 on Tuesday. The win continues a trend for the Lions in their matchups with the Fighting Tigers: they've now won five in a row.

The match finished with set scores of 25-11, 25-11, 25-19.

Daniel got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Emily Gilstrap out in front who had 16 assists and eight digs. Those 16 assists gave Gilstrap a new career-high.

Daniel was lethal from the service line and finished the match with 14 aces. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now served at least five aces in five consecutive matches.

Daniel's record is now 24-8. As for Blue Ridge, they dropped their record down to 4-19-2 with the defeat, which was their third straight on the road.
