Recap: Bourne vs. Apponequet Regional
Everything went Apponequet Regional's way against Bourne on Friday as they made off with a 42-19 victory. Apponequet Regional were expected to win, but the margin was definitely larger than the state rankings had forecast.
Apponequet Regional started the matchup off right with 28 first-half points. Meanwhile, Bourne couldn't get anything going offensively, leaving the score at 28-0 heading into the break. Although Apponequet Regional wound up losing the second-half battle, they still had enough in reserve to win the war.
The win makes it two in a row for Apponequet Regional and bumps their record up to 4-3. This is the second loss in a row for Bourne and nudges their record down to 4-3.
In five weeks Apponequet Regional will take on Old Rochester Regional at 10:00 AM. Old Rochester Regional are cruising in on a seven-game winning streak. Bourne will have some time to rest before their next game, which is against Wareham at 10:00 AM. Wareham stagger in eager to bring about an end to their seven-game losing streak.
