Meridian suffers third straight loss on the road

Recap: Meridian Warriors vs. Middleton Vikings

The Meridian Warriors's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Thursday after their fifth straight loss. They fell just short of Middleton by a score of 61-58. While losing is never fun, Meridian can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Idaho basketball rankings (they are ranked 70th, while Middleton is ranked tenth).

Leading Middleton to victory were Aysha Fried and Zoey Blackwell. Fried scored 11 points along with six rebounds and three steals, while Blackwell scored 19 points along with eight rebounds and three steals. Blackwell hasn't dropped below two steals for 14 straight games. Another player making a difference was Lauren Landis, who scored seven points.

Meridian's loss was their third straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 7-14. As for Middleton, the victory was the 15th in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 18-3.

Meridian does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Middleton also has no future games currently scheduled.
