Baseball Game Preview: Westchester Country Day Wildcats vs. Caldwell Academy Eagles

Westchester Country Day is 8-2 against Caldwell Academy since April of 2021 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Friday. The Wildcats will host the Eagles at 7:00 p.m. Westchester Country Day is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.3 runs per game this season.

Westchester Country Day had to skate by with only a one-run margin when they last took the field, which might have inspired the six-run drubbing they dealt Caldwell Academy on Tuesday. The Wildcats were the clear victors by a 10-4 margin over the Eagles. The Wildcats haven't had any issues with the Eagles recently, as the game was their seventh consecutive victory against them.

Ashton Pittman made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he struck out nine batters over 4.1 innings while giving up three earned (and one unearned) runs off five hits. That's the most strikeouts he has posted since back in March. He was also big at the plate, going 1-for-3 with two RBI, one run, and one double.

In other batting news, Jesse Covington was incredible, going 1-for-3 with two stolen bases, three RBI, and two runs. That's the most stolen bases he has posted since back in February. Another player making a difference was Kaline Burr-Ellis, who went 3-for-4 with two runs and two RBI.

Caldwell Academy's win bumped their record up to 10-14. As for Westchester Country Day, their victory bumped their record up to 6-11.
