Basketball Recap: Wilson Comes Up Short

Wilson suffered their biggest defeat since November 19, 2024 on Tuesday. They lost 69-44 to the Deshler Tigers. If the Warriors were looking for revenge after losing 75-39 to them when the teams met, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Deshler found their leader in sophomore Reece Davis, who went 10 for 21 on her way to 31 points. The contest was Davis' 14th in a row with at least ten points.

Wilson's loss was their first in the region, dropping their region record down to 7-1 and their overall record down to 19-4. As for Deshler, their victory was their fifth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 19-4.

Wilson and Deshler should be looking forward to their upcoming games as both have a sizable advantage in the MaxPreps Alabama Rankings. Wilson will take on Brooks at 6:00 p.m. on Friday up 259 places (109 vs. 368). Wilson will be looking to extend their current three-game winning streak. Meanwhile, Deshler (ranked 18th) will meet Sheffield (ranked 182nd) at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
