Softball Game Preview: Racine Horlick Rebels vs. Oak Creek Knights

Racine Horlick is 0-6 against Oak Creek since April of 2017 but things could change on Tuesday. The Rebels are taking a road trip to face off against the Knights at 6:45 p.m. Racine Horlick has given up an average of 13.2 runs per game this season, but Tuesday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Franklin hit Racine Horlick with a 12-run fifth inning on Tuesday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Rebels came up short against the Sabers, falling 19-2. Having soared to a lofty ten runs in the game before, the Rebels couldn't push the score so high this time.

Racine Horlick saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Ayja Cushman, who went 1-for-2 with one triple and one run. That run marked the first that Cushman has scored this season.

Meanwhile, Oak Creek entered their tilt with Westosha Central on Monday with two consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with three. They walked away with an 11-8 win over the Falcons.

The team relied heavily on Lyla Bray, who went 3-for-4 with two stolen bases, two runs, and two doubles. Another player making a difference was Kennedy Christopher, who went 2-for-3 with two runs, two doubles, and two RBI.

Oak Creek pushed their record up to 12-3 with the victory, which was their fifth straight at home. The home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.2 runs on average over those games. As for Racine Horlick, their loss dropped their record down to 1-3.

Racine Horlick might still be hurting after the 14-0 defeat they got from Oak Creek in their previous matchup back in May of 2023. Can the Rebels avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
