After a string of seven wins, Harlan's good fortune finally ran out on Saturday. They were beaten by the Brennan Bears 96-59. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest loss the Hawks have suffered since December 3, 2024.
Harlan's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Knowledge Carter, who went 5 for 11 en route to 14 points. Kameron Williams was another key player, putting up 12 points.
Brennan had a senior duo take command as Camden Cowgill went 8 of 16 on his way to 24 points and eight steals and Kingston Flemings went 8 for 11 en route to 20 points in addition to eight boards and seven steals. Cowgill is trending in the right direction considering he's improved his point production for three straight games. Another player making a difference was Donovan Criss, who went 5 of 7 on his way to 19 points and six rebounds.
Harlan's loss ended a six-game streak of away wins dating back to last season and brought them to 16-9. As for Brennan, the victory (which was their 12th in a row) raised their record to 23-2.
Coincidentally, both will both be playing O'Connor the next time they take the court. Harlan will host O'Connor at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday, while Brennan will head out to face them at 12:30 p.m. on January 25th.
