Basketball Game Preview: Mt. Carmel Cubs vs. Woodlawn-B.R. Panthers

The Mt. Carmel Cubs will face off against the Woodlawn-B.R. Panthers on Monday. Each of these teams will be fighting to keep a win streak alive as Mt. Carmel comes in on three and Woodlawn-B.R. on 14.

Mt. Carmel is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Thursday. They beat L.W. Higgins by the very same score they won with in their prior game: 32-24.

Meanwhile, Woodlawn-B.R. faced Zachary in a battle between two of the state's top teams last Friday. Woodlawn-B.R. walked away with a 71-63 win over Zachary.

Woodlawn-B.R. pushed their record up to 26-6 with the victory, which was their seventh straight at home. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 60.7 points over those games. As for Mt. Carmel, their win bumped their record up to 18-12.

Mt. Carmel beat Woodlawn-B.R. 44-31 in their previous meeting back in December of 2022. Will Mt. Carmel repeat their success, or does Woodlawn-B.R. have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
