Softball Preview: Eaton Reds vs. Weld Central Rebels        
        
		
             Eaton has been on the road for four straight, but  on Tuesday they'll finally head home. They will welcome the Weld Central Rebels  at 4:00  p.m. Keep an eye on the score for this one:  both  posted some lofty  run totals in their previous games.
 Eaton's pitching crew heads into the  match  hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed  on Saturday. They were the clear victor by  an  18-0 margin over Platte Valley. The Reds might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 17 games by eight  runs or more this season.
  Kenzie Braddy looked comfortable as she  struck out six batters over  three innings while giving up   no  earned runs off   one  hit (and not a single walk).
 At the plate,  Sophie Morgan and  Emma Anderson did most of the damage at the plate:  Morgan  went 2-for-3 with a  home run, four  RBI,  and two  runs, while  Anderson  went 3-for-4 with four  RBI, two  runs,  and two  doubles. The team also got some help courtesy of  Amelia Bowden, who  scored two  runs while going 2-for-2.
 Perhaps unsurprisingly given the score, Eaton  always had someone on base and  finished the game having  posted an OBP of .733. The last time their  OBP was this high was  back in October of 2023.
 Meanwhile, Weld Central had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 14 runs) and they went ahead and made it three on Thursday. They walked away with  a   13-10  victory over the Vikings.
  Jennisa Hale and  Jadeyn Sifuentes did most of the damage at the plate:  Hale  went 2-for-4 with a  home run, three  runs,  and two  RBI, while  Sifuentes  went 2-for-4 with three  RBI, two  runs,  and a  triple. The team also got some help courtesy of  Ally Landers, who  went 1-for-2 with a  home run.
 Eaton's win bumped their record up to 18-3. As for Weld Central, their victory bumped their record up to 8-13.
 Tuesday's   matchup might come down to which pitcher can control the ball better. Eaton has hit smart this season,  having  averaged  an OBP of 0. However, it's not like Weld Central struggles in that department as   they've  averaged 0. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
 Eaton took their  win against Weld Central  in their previous meeting  back in September of 2023 by a conclusive  10-0. Does  Eaton have another victory up their sleeve, or will Weld Central turn the tables on them?  We'll have the answer soon enough.
