Softball Recap: California's Winning Streak Snapped at Five Games

After flying high against Santa Fe last Wednesday, California came back down to earth. California fell just short of the Gahr Gladiators by a score of 5-4 on Friday. The Condors' loss signaled the end of their five-game winning streak.

Mia Martinez made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and scored two runs while going 2-for-3. Jessica Gurule was another key player, scoring a run and stealing two bases while going 2-for-4.

California's defeat dropped their record down to 8-6. As for Gahr, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record up to 6-5-2.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. California will take on Whittier at 3:15 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Gahr, they will square off against La Mirada at 3:15 p.m. on Tuesday. La Mirada will roll in looking for their ninth straight victory, something Gahr surely won't give up without a fight.
